Finishing the Book of Beginnings

We have so enjoyed going through the book of Genesis at our Sunday morning worship services!  We are nearing the end of the book and are currently learning about the life of Joseph.  This final section of the book teaches us so much about the sovereignty of God and, of course, Joseph pictures the character and life of Christ more fully than any other person in the Bible.

One example is how Christ is revealed through Joseph's dealings with his brothers.  As Joseph dealt with his brothers, so Christ deals with us in such a way as to bring about our confession of sin and a recognition of His forgiving love.  In a similar way, He reveals His sovereignty over the affairs of life (Genesis 45:5-8, 15; compare Romans 5:8 and Ephesians 1:17, 20-22).

The Bible is so practical!  If you do not already have a church home where you worship regularly, please consider joining us as we study the Bible each Sunday.  In March, we will continue (and nearly finish) the book of Genesis.  The final Sunday of March is Psalm Sunday so we will consider "The First Event of Holy Week" from Luke 11.  Our worship music and Christian fellowship will also encourage you in your walk with God.  May God help us all live in His will this month!
